Invention

 Wilbur and Orville Wright spent for years of research and development to create the first successful powered airplane, The 1903 Wright Flyer.

Heinrich Kubis

 Heinrich Kubis was the first male flight attendant in 1912. He was born in June 16, 1888 in German and died in 1979 at the age of 91. He worked his way up as a waiter and trained some of Europe’s best hotels.

Ellen Church

 Ellen Church was the first female flight attendant in 1930. She was born in september 22,1904 in US and died in 1965 at the age of 60. Ellen Church wanted to become a pilot, but those jobs were not open to women but she still wanted to fly and become an successful flight attendant.

  •   In the beginning young men the sons of the businessmen who had finance the airlines, where hired as couriers. They were responsible for seeing to passenger needs, such as helping passenger abroad the aircraft,assisting with the luggage, serving refreshment etc. With the advent of commercial travel by air in the 1920’s it stood to reason that passenger needs would be looked after as in rail and sea travel.
  •   In 1930’s the Boeing air transposrt and register nurse Ellen Chruch works together to devise a scheme were nurses heird for 3 months.
  •   In 1940’s during world war 2 the nurses left the airlines and joined the military.
  •   In the post war 1950’s and 1969’s began an airhostess with very stricts condiion. The uniforms were form- fitting and featured accessories including the likes of hats high healed shoes and white gloves In the late 1960’s the fashion started to change to move with the times and mini skirts and hot pants became more widespread.
  •   In 1970’s with the star of unions, equal rights between man and woman and less discrimination more males started to join flight attendant. More males started to joined as Air Stewards later on it changed into flight attendants in US for male and female emplyees.
  •   In 1980’s and 90’s as more time past the dresscode became slightly more functional.The role of the flight attendant had changed, in that they were being regarded in terms of safety,and just service and appearance.
